Hire me or any other local photographer to give you professional looking photos, that will stand above the rest. Save that $500 to $1000 for the lens and the time it will take to learn how to use the lens and flash correctly.
I am also a Realtor in South Florida I have a Canon T4i with 10 -22 canon lens with a little help from Lightroom 4 it's awesome.....Try shooting in M mode on cloudy days for the interiors...This photo of the Camera was shot with my cell phone...I use it to show my customers the type of camera I use for their homes...
I have same 11-16 on my 60d. It's AMAZING!

Hello everyone! I'm a realtor and am taking my own photographs of the interior of homes I list. I have a Canon 3T Rebel and need a wide-angle lens. I purchased an inexpensive one for $25 but I get too much distortion. Any suggestions for a better wide angle lens for a nonprofessional that wants professional looking pictures?
I got the Canon 10-22 through Amazon for about $700. A good wide angle is expensive but well worth it. I'm a photographer for an architectural firm and that lens makes it possible to get in those small offices and tight places where square footage usage is pushed to the max. Very little distortion, if any. You'll be very happy with it.
Ditto this lens. I have one and it's a fine lens. It's a tad bit more than the $25 lens you have been using though. Look for a good used one. You should be able to find one for $500-$600 used.
Tell me, what kind of lens might you be using that only cost $25? I didn't think there was such a thing at that price that would fit a Canon DSLR.
I would highly recommend the Canon 17-40 which you can get used nowadays for around $600. But the camera you have is a crop sensor so maybe the Canon EFS lens that someone else suggested, which is wider, will better suit your needs. If you are a realtor, you want quality shots, not something that looks like it was shot with a telephone.

Gotta be one of those cheap screw-on accessory lenses.

I'm a realtor in Southern Calif. I have a T3 Canon. I use the 18-55mm kit lense. I would not go any wider than 18mm (yes it is a cropped sensor). I've seen too many photos in the MLS with very wide angle pictures and they look like "crap". Some folks on here say you can fix the photos somewhat.........they still look funny and distorted sometimes actually laughable.

Less than 18mm will look great IF you learn how to use a wider
angle lens. The pro RE photo companies like House Lens use
wider lenses all the time and photos look great distortion free
without any fix needed.
I have and enjoy using a Sigma 10-20. So long as you keep it perfectly level (buy a bubble level and put it in the flash socket) you will get minimal distortion.
Tokina 11 to 16mm I use it on my 30d,60d.and my 7d it is 2.8 and great in low light.
