I found Ugly Hedgehog by a stroke of good fortune and I've been reading and taking notes for a week or two now. I've really been enjoying the posts and photographs so I thought it was time to say Hello.
I'm a musician, but my father insisted that I go to school so that I'd have something "to fall back on" just in case. I chose photography and attended Otis Parson's School of Art. That was 30+ years ago.
Well Dad was right and I did fall back, literally, and I'm back to photography, but things have changed in 30 years and I need some guidance and a lot of it.
I'm looking forward to all and everything I'm going to learn here.
Glad I found you.

Welcome to the HOG - Enjoy
Welcome to the Hog Innenst. Are you using your old film camera or have you gone digital? ;)
Thank you David-
I'm using both but primarily digital. I bought myself a Nikon D3200 about a year ago on impulse which I've been very happy with. It came with the Nikkor AF-S 55-200mm and Nikkor AF-S 18-55mm and I added the Nikkor AF 50mm which is my go to lens.
My "baby" is my nearly 40 year old Nikon FM. She's sooo sweet.
Thank you again for the welcome. I'm really looking forward to checking things out. I have a lot to learn.
Best,
Cody
Thank you
I'm looking forward to the journey.

Read the manual then with your manual handy take all the dials and buttons and learn the ones that interest you one at a time. With your film background you will pickup the digital stuff pretty quick. When you have a question Google it or ask a question here on the Hog. Above all, enjoy the journey. ;)

Welcome Cody. Still have my Nikon FTN and Nikkomat from late '70'. Now mostly use my D7100. Enjoy the forum. Lots to learn here.

Hi Cody, welcome to the hog. Yes things have changed and not changed. Cameras do, but the eye never does. You posted a very nice shot. I love gates. And yes, you will learn so much here. So, have fun, ask questions and of course post more pictures.
