We are all pulling for you. New cameras with image stabilization is exactly what you need to press on with your photography. Even though you may not do everything you once did, continue to do what you can and have pleasure in your accomplishments. God bless you.
Your dog picture was wonderful.
Dear Snapperlady,
It's hard to stay positive when our body start to age and limits our activities. It's even harder when there is damaged from disease and treatments.
I have been thought cancer and chemo. I wanted to sing and dance... but all of this damaged my throat and took my ability to sing away. So I found my "voice" in writing and photography.
There is always another path as you walk down life's roads.
There will always be limits to what you can do, but never limit your ability to see the world as full of possibilities. There is always a different way to find your passion in life.
That photo of your dog is amazing and wonderful... But a photo of him lying on the floor asleep or looking at you, with his wonderful dog look, into a wide angle lens will be just as marvelous. Limits, my dear. Do what you can, with what you have. You are not alone.
Take care, stay positive and keep using your camera.
PhotoshopMikey what a wonderful pic to make for snapperlady. I am so glad I found this site a few months ago because it is filled with great people. As a 70 year old male I know what it is like when life throws you lemons. Someone like sbapperlady helps put my trials in perspective.
Now if I could just find a lady whose life threw them tequila I would be into something!!

I recently have had a stroke not one but three and now they are pretty sure that I have CNS Vasculitis, let us say not good. Well have you ever tried to take photos wobbling or with a cane and tripod. This picture is of my youngest dog and he can always make me laugh. I just need to vent I am trying to remember some of then things I learned early on and they are coming back slowly. Is there any one out there that has had a stroke and struggled returning to photography?
Thank you

I recently was on a birding trip with a gentleman who requires a walker. Pulled his gear in a wagon made for the beaches of Florida (large - I mean fat - tires with low rolling resistance). Although set up was slow, he managed to get a lot of nice shots.
He did state that he changed his style of photography and has had to learn patience.
HTH. Good Luck!
P.S. Don't give up. Just reset your goals. Once you reach a first goal, reset to a little higher level.
Snapperlady my prayers are with you. Looks like you are doing better than me with the great picture of your dog.I am a newbee to photography but not sickness. I have never had a stroke but I had cancer & Chemo. Then 4 heart by-passes after that and another two stents put in three years ago. Put your faith in God to lead you each step of your way. May God bless you and your family.

DJM got it right. Winston Churchill said "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense." In my view, the greatest Englishman that ever lived.
Beautiful dog picture, good luck to you.

Dear SnapperLady:
You are already on the road to regaining anything you lost with the strokes! Just take each step slowly and carefully. Each day will bring new recovery! Each day~! Think about how many people have read your post and are either praying for you or thinking good thoughts ! You can't help but get better even faster now....
All the best,
