I posted some pictures of this cemetery a little while back and got some great comments, including some on the condition of the cemetery itself. Well, I had to visit yesterday and too my new camera. I was a bit rushed, and working with my new AF-S f1.8 50mm lens, but this is what I got. I also did some in-camera editing for some of the special effects. Comments, criticism, & CORRECTIONS welcomed.

I really like the "pencil sketch" look of the last one. What did you use to accomplish this?

Thanks.
There are some in-camera processing facilities in my Nikon D5100.
Also, my Canon SD 1400 has a pencil sketch (or similar name) mode.
I think there are some software programs that will do the same. There are several "Colored Pencil" filters in my PSE 10.

You're right. I forgot about B&W.
All Faiths B&W 1
All Faiths B&W 2
All Faiths B&W 3
All Faiths B&W 4
Good subject matter.
#1 lacks something. Just a snapshot
#2 interesting composition. Diagonal line on right side does not
carry into the picture as usually advocated, but I think it makes the picture. B&W version makes this more evident.
#3 diagonals from low right to left and from left to right is
interesting.
#4 appears to be more disorganized, somewhat similar to #1.
#2 Gets my vote as the pick of the litter.
Revisiting familiar haunts (no pun intended) often gives us the opportunity to improve when we have a fresh look

Thanks. I agree. #2 is probably the best. I should have taken a picture of the dirt road on the left in #1.
Not sure I understand which diagonals you are talking about in 2 & 3. Do you mean the tipped over gravestone?
I think if I treated 3 & 4 with the same tonal quality as #2 I might be able to improve them. Gonna give it a try...right now.
I think I'll be going back to this site on my own. Wonder what I can get after snow is on the ground?
Thanks for your C&C.

Next time you go you might try getting the camera right down on the ground and looking up at a fairly close stone, or something like that. Look for things that give a different perspective on the graveyard and you might come up with a photograph.
New #1 still doesn't do much for me.
New #2 has a line of grave markers from center towards the
left, then there is a distant line from left to right. Creating somewhat of diagonals which I like
New #3 looks jumbled to me
New #4 is still my favorite. There is a strong line (not classic)
starting in the lower right and moves into the picture.
There is a second line of more distant grave markers that
carries your line of vision into the picture with a hint of a
vanishing point
These are much better photos :)
