Welcome! Your photos need to "pop" a little. In post processing, try adding a bit more contrast and saturation. Careful though, a little goes a long way. Keep shooting and posting!

If I have your permission, I'll try to work a bit on them and re-post.

Here's the two edited photos. Neither one took more than 2 minutes.....would have spent more time if I had the originals. You be the judge if they are any better or not. In photoshop I used curves...then contrast...then saturation..and finally, added a 2px black border.

These really look better but any suggestions on how I could have set my camera to have gotten the better look?

I'm not a Canon user and not familiar with your camera. I shoot Nikon. However, you may want to utilize a polarizing filter...pretty standard for all dslr cameras. Check your settings on the camera....I either shoot in RAW format or Fine JPEG. I generally do some post processing. Others on this forum do not post process and their results are fantastic and perhaps they can help you more than I. I wish I had their talent. Most of all, compose the picture in your mind before releasing the shutter.
