Hi everyone,
I have just upgraded to a Canon T5i with the an 18-135 stm kit lens. I need (want) a dedicated , fixed focal length lens of very good quality for macro/micro photos. One of my passions. Interested in quality more than price however a combination of both would be nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have only two EF-S lenses: the 10-22 and the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM. You may have some issues capturing insects with the 60mm due to how close you need to be to the subject due to the lower focal length. But otherwise, the EF-S 60mm is very sharp and an overall lower prices entry for a Canon T5i.

I have the Canon 100 mm Macro lens. It is a superb macro lens. It also makes an excellent portrait lens (for those times that yopu may wish to photograph something bigger than bugs).

I'm with CotonDog 100% on the 100mm (non L). A great lens. I mention the 60mm because I've found it more versatile than the 100mm in my bag o lenses ... It's much lighter and can be used in 'walkaround' non macro situations. I've seen some phenomenal shots from the 100mm L macro, but if you're shooting from a tripod, I don't see the benefit of the IS included in the price for that lens ...

I'm with these 2 as well.
There is a much cheaper non L non IS version that has very very good IQ.
