A few pictures from recent trip to 'Oregon Outback' and NW Nevada. Any comments are welcome
Approaching Black Rock Desert from Gerlach, Nevada
Lake Abert, Oregon
Ruin - Unionville, NV (Mark Twain worked here)
Remains of Sulfur, Nevada
Wiggly Aspen (deep snow) Steens Mountain, OR
Nice photos, and an interesting part of the country. To my eye, one and two are slightly over-exposed. Well done.
I really like the shot of "Mark Twain worked here". He had a studio, where he did his writing, and is burried 20 miles from here in Elmira, NY.
I would like to see the desert scenes a little darker with more contrast, I love the trees.
Thanks for your comment. Sam Clemens was 25 when he ventured to Nevada to try his hand at silver mining, but he expected to find the ground littered with silver. Unfortunately he and shovels didn't get along, so he went to Virginia City and started his writing career at the local newspaper.

My niece lives in Vancouver. She says it's a great since there is no state income tax in Washington. She crosses the bridge into Portland to do her shopping. No sales tax in Oregon. That was a few years ago, maybe things have changed since then.

Yes it is still like that. The Costco across the bridge in Oregon is always packed with cars with Washington plates. And we have 2 Costco,s in Vancouver, WA. No sales tax on food here. But they get one way or another.
