Sadly, the corporate leadership hierarchy of the Boy Scouts voted last week to change the moral standards of a great organization ... just a little bit, of course; but the end results are unknown at this time.

Bigotry is based on fear. When bigots talk, like the OP and the columnist he links to, I see trembling men cowering in fear. Buck up, fellows, if we treat everyone as equals we all win in the end.
I'm married to a woman. I don't care who joins what. Gays have been in this world for many, many, many years. If you believe in God then let him be the judge. Judge not less you be judged. God loves all his children. Think before you speak.

God is the only being who is good, and the standards are set by Him. Because God hates sin, He has to punish those guilty of sin. Maybe that's not an appealing standard. But to put it bluntly, when you get your own universe, you can make your own standards. ~~Francis Chan
Ive been a Scouter for the past 7 years and have held leadership positions at all levels. Everyone interprets the portion of our Scout Oath differently, as we do the Scriptures. This will be a confrontational issue for years to come. I personally feel God intended a man/woman union, but I'm not the judge. My concern with this new decision is what do leaders do on campouts when there are professed gay youth in your unit? Parents would never allow coed tenting arrangements for obvious reasons. Do we now separate gay youth from other same sex youth for the same reason when tenting? Like most governing bodies, they dont look at the forest beyond the trees.
