This is actually a native Missouri grass. My wife got a few clumps of these to use as edging in our one garden that has only plants native to the Kansas/Missouri border area.
This bloom is only about 3/8th's of an inch in diameter. No matter how well it is photographed, it is far prettier to the eye. The sad thing is that the blooms do not last very long.
