Hi folks, well last time I was online...we were riding out severe weather south of Kansas City. Today we were headed to Lansing Kansas when our side awning got loose and was ripped off the side of the RV. We were traveling at 70mph when it came undone and was ripped off. So, the wife and I have had enough RVing for now and are headed back home to Nashville. It's been a rough trip. I broke the RH mirror in Springfield Illinois when it collided with a bus, the bus was fine, my mirror shattered, we got hailed on in Butler Missouri, my wife lost her wallet in Warsaw Missouri, the positive battery cable became loose in Kentucky and we lost power. But, we are both fine...just a bit tired and ready to go home. Below is us sitting on the side of Interstate 35 after our awning came off, it was destroyed. After we get rested and freshened up...we're going to fix all the damage and try again later next month. RVing is fun...but it takes some luck which we didn't seem to have on this trip.
Take care friends...will be back online in a few days.
James

Your just making campfire stories.
Nice looking rig, except for the awning.
We'll be heading out soon ourselves!

Well good luck Pat...yea, we got some good stories to tell around the campfire next time we're out. You all be careful now and have fun.
We went camping in Calico Ghost Town for Thanksgiving one year. It got so windy that when I opened our RV's door it blew it off. We had to figure out a way to keep it closed during our trip home. not fun! It sounds like you will be trying it again. Have better luck on your next trip! Love your RV! We want to get something smaller then we have now for when we retire. How do you like yours? It looks like a good size. We will be,doing a lot of mountain roads.
To think that I had all the bad luck. Oh, boy! You are a long way from Nashville.

it also takes regular service, we bought ours 2nd hand .Took me a year to get it to a stage I knew it wouldn't fail.
Then we sold it to a Canadian cpl who used it for three months to cover New Zealand and never had an issue .
hell I miss that rv
they did 10,000 k

I sincerely wish you better luck on your next trip. Keep us all informed how you get on.
At least you didn't do what I did last summer....backed up my RV past a tree with the awning extended! I didn't have the guts to take a picture. Hopefully your insurance will cover the cost of replacement/repair. Mine did. See ya out there on the road.

When I asked my wife if she would like to go camping, she said no. I asked if she would like me to buy or rent an RV, she said no, "if I am going on vacation I am not going to cook, make beds, clean or do anything but relax". That was thirty five years ago, and we still fly to our destination and stay in hotels or if we drive (our car) we stay in motels. OH WELL...
