Camshy: Don't matter what they are. A great set is what they are.

Love the colors

Thanks for looking Steve M. yeah that may be true, but when some one ask what type of tree that is, I would like to tell them. Instead of saying well....it flowers! :) But yes it is pretty!

Ok... not sure what type of tree this is. I was thinking that it could be a Red Bud, but I am not sure. If it is not... then what kind of tree is it?

   What you have in the pics is a "Flowering Quince." Look at my thread at http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-115695-1.html to compare. Thanks for showing.

Thanks GeneM it does look like it. But mine is more of a tree then a bush, does it make a difference? Glad you like it.

Well ... I've been wrong before. And there is a Quince tree but its blooms are more pink than the bushes we have in the neighborhood. As someone else suggested, it might be a Crab Apple Tree.

I did some Googling and found this blog: http://boisedailyphotogardenshot.blogspot.com/2010/04/crab-apple-tree-blossoms.html Click on the pic and compare it with yours. They are similar.

We have one in the park across the street but I didn't get any pics of it in bloom. And I do know it produces a lot of small apples.

I suggest you clip off a small branch and take it to a local nursery where they might be able to give you an accurate despription of what you have. You might even want to take some photos with you. I've done it many times and it works.

The reason I thought it was a variety of a crab apple, I go to school to learn these. I have a tree business, but trees are hard to ID, because of so many varieties. I can mistakes also, but the leaves along with the color of the flower.

Thank you Gene, I checked out the blog. I never smelled them. I never gave it much to even smell them. I know I do not get anything that looks like small apples. But I never thought about taking a branch or even a picture to a nursery. But maybe I should. I really appreciate your time and the info.
