Every time I have commented on an image using selective color and why I think it is a lousy/stupid thing to do to an image, I get chewed out (not that I care) and told that it is art and whatever the artist wants is OK.
Oh yeah? Justify THIS! :-) Art my......Well, you know.
Selective color is (95% of the time) used improperly and is the mark of a new user of Photoshop. Let's pray they cannot afford the Cloud. :-)
Yeh, the things we do because we sometimes think we can...
I say if people are making money at it THEY ARE A PROFESIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER. You might not like what they create but obviously someone does otherwise they would starve. If you don't like it that is your opinion and you are entitled to it, until you develop the standard and force everyone to conform to it, people will have different opinions.
Has Any One Here Gone To The Front Page Of This Site An Read This?
Couple Funny Selective Coloring Photos.
Then Read The Comments Under It. They Some Good Comments. lol

I've RARELY seen it done where it IMPROVED a photo and 99% of the time it looks bad..
This a bad example, but it was an early effort - I think if I can make it work as a rank beginner, your estimate of success is a bit pessimistic. Horrible examples should NOT be praised!
Reverse - creepy, or cool?

The problem is you think your samples are worthy samples, but they aren't.
#1: without the selective color this image has nothing of interest, the selective color was added to give a false "pop" to the picture. It's badly composed and the background distracting.
#2 why is the grass and flowers spot colored and the people black and white? Are the bride and groom not important? Are they dead? Plus it's tilted.
#3 if you are going to do selective coloring at least make sure the white balance is correct, her dress has a blue tint to it.

I'm going out on a limb and say it's not tilted The groom is sitting up straight. I bet the ground is tilted.

Let's recap -
1) "It's a bad example" - did you read my post, or rush to judgement?
Nothing of interest? You've seen this pose 1,000 times? The irony of no faces in a wedding shot?
2) "Reverse - creepy or cool" again, do you read?
3) Yes, the WB was off on her dress - the question was, does the color select help, hurt, or is it just plain ugly? Thank you for stating the plainly obvious, and ignoring the entire question. If you want to constructively criticize you're going to have to step up - all you've contributed so far is criticism. (And I was going to agree you rocked)

Yes I do have a website, it's impossible not to have one into days market if you are a professional photographer, I also have blog and a facebook page as do most of my peers.

You said "if I can make it work as a rank beginner" I pointed out that you in fact did not make it work. Sorry I did not take the time to give a well thought out feedback on the images, simply put I was walking out the door to play soccer with my children before bed.
