I've taken pictures for many years. I was given my first real good camera, a Minolta SLR, by my uncle who was a portrate photograher. I also got a book to learn how to use it. Had a great time with it and wasted a lot of film but also got a bunch of pretty good photos too. I lost the Minolta in a house fire in 2005 and replaced it with an Olympus E-500. Lots cheeper to use. I love taking pictures of landscapes and animals. I'm still learning with it.

Welcome, this is a great site with lots of helpful information. I'm also a newbie. Your photos are great. Love the cat. I'm partial to scenery and animals, too.
Hello, Squirrelgully, and welcome to the forum.
Love your photos. They're great!
I hear ya about the Minolta. That was my first slr camera, too. I took hundreds of photos with it before I switched to Nikon. It was fun lining up the needle inside the circle to get your exposure. Sometimes I kind of miss that. (But not enough to root it out of the cellar and put a roll of film in it. Hehe...) :-)

The only thing with the cat pic, I would have taken the fan out with photo shop..
Thank you. Some times I surprise myself. I think I'm going to like this web site. I'm not much for chat rooms.
Thank you. I get teased a lot because I tend to get lost looking for things to shoot. I once ended up on a dirt road in Missouri after finding the first of many old barnes I was interested in. It kept going on and on and on in an east to west direction. I knew the interstate was south of me but there were no roads in that direction. Finally found a farmer who told me how to get to civilization. You meet some nice people that way. Anyway, I think I'm going to like this web site.
Yeah, but Missy would have left too. Can't always plan with animals. I was sitting in the recliner playing with the camera and Missy and our other cat started playing Queen-of-the-Hill. The fan just happened to be there.
