It is a law now to pay internet taxes. You are supposed to report them at the end of the year. Do you? Or are you a law breaker.

Most of us are, this is bill makes the state collect the tax. It will probably not make it out of the house and small business owners will suffer as a result.

Here I thought conservatives were for the little business man guess that is a lie too!

Of course I pay my fair share. The State even provides a place on their income tax form for that information. They make it so easy!

The house won't pass it, didn't Grover Norquist make Republicans sign a "no new taxes pledge", sign the pledge or don't get re-elected.

Grover Norquist is a stooge for the Koch Brothers and totally funded by them. His contract really isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

It's not a legal document, but if someone signs it (like he has a choice?) and then renegs, it looks bad for him.

Jerry,
How in the world can they look worse that after the fiasco they've already concocted? This partisanship crap along party lines has got to cease. The voting records for candidates should be posted so voters know what their representatives have actually supported and who got benefit from that choice. Then, compare that with the listing of campaign contributors and amounts. Votes are now bought in Washington and the masses can be damned, or at least that' how it looks. The public's interests are not a major concern. JMHO

I agree, but look who's making the rules. They're not going to do anything to make themselves look worse. And yes, it is possible for them to look worse. Just wait a year and see what other stupid decisions they have made.

As you implied, it's all about how much money they accumulate while in office and after they get out. We exist only to put them in office and pay taxes for them to spend.

It's being thrown around that Hillary might run for president in the next election. It might be funny to see Bill play "First Lady" at formal events. LOL.I can just see the tv special now when Bill redecorates the Whithouse and hosts a tour. LOL

With the way things are shaping up over the Benghazzi attack, Hilary might not want to enter that arena since she was in charge of that diplomatic mission. The cover-up fallout and investigations are likely to continue into the next election cycle.

MT,
Don't forget that congress refused the increase in security funding that was requested by the State Department. Again, party partisanship looks like it's raised it ugly head.

It seems that "The Party" has replaced "The Nation" as their top priority.

It's all about money....who's contributing and why. They should put a "For Sale: To The Highest Bidder" sign up at the rotunda.

OH forgot something else. Foreign diplomats (primarily in Wash DC and NYC) are immune from paying sales tax, but they need to present a diplomat card indicating that they have a pass on the taxes. How will Amazon and eBay handle that?

I do not think it will bother ebay too much. Ebay is made up of all independent sellers. The seller would have to sell more than a million to be responsible to collect the sales tax. Amazon might have a problem with their own sales though, but possibly not with sales from their independent contractors.

That would be a redundant rotunda sign. :D

Just like everything else the Feds enact, the cost of compliance is astronomical. Just imagine, if you will, what it will cost Amazon (for example) to collect and disburse revenue for over 6400 taxing authorities. They never seem to be aware of the unintended consequences. Cutting spending would never occur to them, just raising taxes - those B*******

Careful, there! Your rationality is showing. :D
