Ohhhh, now this I love! What a really good shot of the loon! I love, love, love loons and have many pictures that I took with film stored away somewhere in an album. We saw soooo many of them up in Canada!

I grew up in northern Minnesota and don't remember seeing any when I was young. I think there were maybe 6 or more on the lake this morning to far out to shoot

In early summer, we plan to take our canoe up north and shoot some loons.

the hard thing is getting the eye to come out and getting good shots from shore. I shot that one from the car window sitting at the boat landing. i wish you good luck getting some nice ones

Wow...Dave, this really is a great shot. Nice, and I'm jealous! We have all the loons gathered on Rainy River here..waiting for the lakes to open. I would have to say groups of 40 plus in different areas! It's probably going to be awhile before the ice goes out. Maybe I have hope of getting a good photo yet.
