Wow, Alma! Hope you and yours will be okay! I've never seen flooding like that!

We are safe here. About 20 miles from the river but the streams running from it are getting full too. Two years ago we had it worse and some of our town was flooded from the ditches overflowing. That was the year the Corps of Engineers blew up the levee to lower the river to save Cairo, Illinois but it also flooded the farmland and houses on the Missouri side. The levee has been rebuilt so hopefully it will hold.

I have pictures from the 73 and 93 100 year floods around St. Louis and Alton areas. I hope what you are geting is year is not as bad as those years. I live about 70 miles from the Mississippi and I need to get over there for pictures of this year.

Thank you post more.

I remember the Flood of '93 well... In 93 I had not yet retired from the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department or MoDot as they now call it. I remember they called for the employees volunteer to leave their regular jobs, even in the office, to do sandbagging.
