Must have been hard to get a good shot like that..
Thanks. Hawaii is so much fun to visit -- a target-rich environment! 8-)

Beautiful shot
I was born and raised on the Big Island, this shot took me back to my youth. Thanks, Carl

Is it permissible to post links to web albums (a la Picasa, Photobucket, etc.)? I spent most of May in Hawaii, and of course took lots of pictures.

I agree on all those. I love Hawaii and have been several times. You left out a snorkel at Kahalu'u beach park and Captain Cooks. I'm an avid snorkeler. Taking pictures underwater is amazing. Oh, and the volcano is spewing big time right now. I'd love to get photos of that.

I hope you don't mind since you didn't ask but I'd like to put a few of my on land and underwater photos for you. I haven't edited much if any but thought you might like to see some.
The first turtle I ever got a decent shot of.(was edited some)
only in Hilo once - I think this is Akaka falls but not sure
Whale shark - pretty rare and goofy fish
I love the gheckos. I thought banana trees were the strangest trees, still do but did know the gheckos hung out there. GREAT shot!!
yes, thats Akaka Falls. Love that sea turtle! Another great place to visit is the macademia factory. Lava flows should be interesting currently. Have a great time. Carl
