Beautiful! Well done.

Now can we eat lobstah?

Thank you for looking, Globetrekker. Appreciate the compliment.

I have actually taken lobsters from the water at my feet on this beach, tho that was years ago. Haven't seen one close to shore in a coon's age, tho I'll admit with the cold water, I spend more time now walking and taking photos than swimming.

Sanddollars, which were abundant all along the shore here when I was a child, have almost completely disappeared. Very sad.

Stunning colors. How did you achieve the grass looking so "painted" when I view it full size?

Hi Greg, don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting you before. Thanks very much for looking and the comment.

The photo was processed with Topaz Simplicity, a Photoshop plug-in program, to give it that 'painted' effect. If you're unfamiliar with it, you can check it out at Topazlabs.com. I use Simplicity to one degree or another in most of my PP, and like it a lot.

Nice to meet you too. I've only been here for a few months. Don't post too often. Mainly enjoy watching and learning.

Thank you for the information on Topaz software. I don't have PS, only Lightroom. Would it still work?

Yes, it will work, but I think you have to use Topaz's FXLab or Fusion Express in addition to Lightroom to do so, rather than as a stand-alone. You'd have to check with Topaz for the details, but their programs are worth using. And they often offer discounts, so you might watch for a holiday offer or attend one of their webinars, where you are given a discount code at the end.

Lol, the owner of the large house works in Washington, DC. So there's probably a palace or two somewhere that they have to suffer along in.

Thanks for looking, and glad you like it. Appreciate the visit!

Nice! Were you using Photomatix software to get this effect?

In moderation, the effect works well, but it very much depends on what you want from the photo. In this case, it softens and adds interest to an otherwise rather mundane shot.

Thanks very much for looking and taking time to comment!
