The New England Aquarium is located in Boston, and is one of the finest in the country.

I grew up just outside of there. The other gentlemen's description bring back a lot of memories. You have to vsit Fenway Park if you can grab a ball game! That is the holiest of all shrines in Boston!lol. I hope it's still there, but there is the Boston Museum of Science. Fantastic exhibits! You'll have a fantastic time!

Boston, by the way it's laid out, is the most Walkable city. Maybe only Florence, Italy comes close.
As for Wow! sights--the whole city is Wow!
Old Boston alone will keep you busy. There are marked walking tours all over the place. Also tour buses and Duck rides on Charles River.
Start at Boston Gardens; from there walk to Quincy Market. That will take you thru Old Boston (ask for the best way at one of the Tourist booths. Won't take too long for you to see where the the interesting/historical places are.
Not sure what the op had in mind in suggesting to get 'enough' insurance. Probably safety. Maybe it was luck but i never ever sensed a whiff of danger in Boston. Still, be alert as you normally would when in a new place. Common sense is a good guide. Enjoy the Bean Town and bring some pictures for us. neddick
I have and still spend a lot of time in Boston. T... (show quote)

Totally AGREE! I live here and every time I go into Boston I have a myriad of photos I bring home with me....it is the most photographic city in the U.S. (my opinion, of course!). The North End (little Italy-like being in Europe!), Faneuil Hall area, Beacon Hill (all brick buildings, sidewalks, old streetlamps), the waterfront area....EVERYWHERE there are amazing photos to be had...the Boston Common...and you can walk the whole city because it is so compact and so diverse...if you'd like, I can send you to my facebook page where I just uploaded a bunch of photos when I went a week ago....

Yes! It's called "The Freedom Trail"...Paul Revere's house is on it, nestled in amongst tall buildings, The Old State House, etc. Lots of history alongside new...even more fun for photos than Philadelphia...and a SAFE city to walk.

Nice. that's an awfully long fuse on that canon. :D

I'll have to bring a wide angle lens for that.

If you like history be sure to walk The Freedom Trail. You follow a 2.5 mile red brick path which takes you by many historical sites like Paul Reveres's home, the Old Ironsides, The Green Dragon pub where the revolution was planned, the Old North Church where the lanterns were hung "one if by land two if by sea, and many other historical sites.

Uh, I forget. Did Sarah Palin fight along with Paul Revere on the British side against the US? Revised history makes me confused.

No, but she was a technical advisor for that 1960's movie, "The Russians are Coming." :D

You are going to have a great time but you do need to try and break down what you really want to see as there are so many historical sites close to Boston. There is Concord and Lexington and Salem along with Plymouth and the lists goes on forever. Have fun and keep shootin'. Mike

And there is also a cemetery where you can see the original "Mother Goose" tombstone. It is in the same cemetary that Paul Revere and John Adams are buried in. Just north of the commons.

Ive been to Boston three time and have yet to see enough. Ive seen Mother Goose great call.
On of our favorites is Union Oyster house may be the oldest building in Boston. Great food but we like the Oyster Bar. Lot of different rooms to eat in.

Before you leave you can make reservations through Open Table web site for any place you want to eat.

Cheers was filmed on a TV set. The bar is a little different but worth it.

Always see a Presidential library on you travels this time it's J.F. K.
