Railtown 1897 - Saturday Steam Out. . .
#1 is my choice---Love the ole' B&W---(#2) Engineer is in to bright of clothes for that day & age. They all wore Bibs & coveralls, because they all came home looking as black as that engine.

Saturday was the opening day for train rides at Railtown. They don't always fire up the old steam engine; however, on Saturday they did. Most of you have seen this steam engine and train, as it has been featured in many movies and TV shows; to wit: High Noon; Petticoat Junction; Back to the Future II; and, many others.
Was there at 7:30 am, getting some fun shots of the entire process. Tomorrow they are opening up all the shops, roundhouse, etc. for a special tour for our photo club; however, no trains will be running tomorrow.
On Saturday I got about 250 great images, that I am still playing with. Here is one of those images, done in three different PP treatments. All the same image, just different PP.
Vote for your favorite, if you would please. The one with the most votes, I will print large, and frame it out to 20x24, for the gallery.

Oh my... I like #2. Very nice work.
We'd love to see more.
Considering the time frame of the locomotive I would go with the B&W. All are great shots!
I like them all very much, Ken, but I vote #2. It looks like a watercolor piece.

My vote is #1 .. You can't beat a black and white photo of an old steam engine...
I would go with #3 but for the reason that it is for a poster I think it takes in the mystical world of steam trains and of a bygone era.... But still like #1 for the same reason but with out the color .....God they are great pictures of the same subject.
# 1 for me # 2 is very but the colors are not true

How about one in just color?
Outstanding, all three, but I like the black and white the most.

Thank you for your vote and comments. Maybe I'll pick another image and post a series of the different treatments.

First I want to thank all who have voted and commented.
Now let's take a look at the treatments of a different image shot of this iconic steam engine.
First, we will begin with what I call the "as shot" image, showing the grey sky (it rained a bit).
Then I replaced the sky. Next was a textured watercolor effect.
Then we have the color graphic image treatment.
A more traditional sepia treatment.
Finally, the ever popular Black & White.
All comments, votes, and/or questions are very welcome.
As Shot
Replaced Sky
Textured Watercolor
Color Graphic Treatment
Tradional Sepia
Black & White
