D800 Problem

WhenI use a pocket wizard or any other radio device or even use the pop up flash (which is useless) my camera hesitates for as much 2-3-4 seconds to fire. This problem seems to be worse in the studio with a transmiter attached. Anyone else had any problems like this? I hope that I just have something set wrong that I have overlooked

Try putting the focus on manual and pre-focusing on the subject.

I found out my own answer! I had the camera set on red eye reduction, dont know how or why it was there but I turned it off and that was the end of the problem! Thankyou for your response!!!

Welcome to our forum.

Did you also disable that little red light that comes on as a focus assist? That can be a nuisance.

That was exactly what I did! (turn off red eye reduction). The strange part was that I have been useing this camera for quite a while with no problems and all the sudden??? I must have had my finger holding down the button on the front of the camera! I shot yesterday and every thing went just fine. Thanks for your reply and will talk more later.

The red light in front (AF-Assist) also helps the camera focus in dim lighting. It turns on and applies more light to the scene. Unfortunately, it is also a distraction to those in front of the camera, and the range is very limited. See page 286 in your manual.
