Horses.
I think I'd rather be pushed out of the pasture than bitten as I ran...I've heard that the mosquitoes are huge in Alaska and that blood transfusions are commonly needed ~smile~.
Just grazing for the afternoon...........
Here are a couple from Tippycanoe Co. Indiana
Love the grey horse and barn. The fly picture reminds me of the last time I took pictures of horses, I gave my blood to an ant hill and came out of the pasture with about 22 ant bites and some blurry pictures of a horse. What we do for our art!!

This is fun This is fun...that is my favorite.
Ivan..I know it stinks when you see a zillion lookers and so few posts..but sometimes I just dont know what to say.
The photos are always great...I can say that everytime.
At this site I can at least tell that people are looking even when no comments are left. If I rely on comments only I could not justify the time I am putting into posting.
Thank you for your patronage and kind words,Ivan.
I enjoyed these, being a "horse person" myself. The fourth is my favorite the gray horse with the old barn in the background. Looks like it's been raining.

These photos were taken at a remote Canadian ranch in B.C. and the horses (not used to strangers) did not think much of me.When they got really tired of me following them around the biggest one walked over and pushed me with his nose out of the pasture while I was apologizing.
I found them. They are absolutely BREATHTAKING! I had 77 horses at one time and adored every one of them but one. He was a ....never mind. Name calling is not a habit of mine! LOL! Thanks for showing us these beauties!
This was my stallion for years. Champion bred, stood 16.3 hands and had such a long neck, he could stand barefoot and reach over a 7 foot fence. That's as high as the top of a DOOR! His son that I ride now is 16.2 and if you took a picture of me trying to get up on him, I'd have to shoot you or just wait til you died laughing! Hahahaha! It's a FUNNY sight.
The second one is of me and the world famous Thoroughbred, Secreteriat
The one of Sec was long ago...1978

Thanks for sharing. I am no horse expert but even I can tell your stallion was special. The horses on my photos are all retired and of course they were used for work. Ivan.

Alaskan, you did it again. Your photos are just sharp, nice quality colors, good contrast. What camera and lens?
No DSLR,all photos taken with "bridge" cameras with built in lens like Panasonic FZ10 and FZ28.

Nope just me. People often accuse me of looking like Paula Deen though! (picture below) Wish I was her age again!
