Parade Photos

Every year many cities hold Christmas Parades. The Friday morning just after Thanksgiving a local city that I like covering, did also.
Last January I talked to the mayor and found out the person they hired, failed to deliver. So I offered mine for the same price. Although it took three months to get the payment, all turned out well as they loved the photos. Kind of neat!
Among many things, I like taking photos of people, children, etc. Since I was going to cover the festivities anyway, (for practice LoL), this year I sent an Email to the city a couple months in advance. I found out that a local art studio was going to cover the parade for nothing. Its hard to beat nothing.
Uploading my 300 and some odd photos to Facebook, I decided to let the city know so they could look at them. Apparently the Mayor compared the art studios free photos with mine and then called me. They wanted to buy mine. Not trying to make a killing, I told them it was the same price as last year. This might become a regular thing!

That is super....good for you asserting yourself and presenting your skills in such a way they had to have them. Congrats are due.

Nice coverage. Next year make yourself an "Event Photographer" badge, it will get you more responsive interaction with the viewers. People always want to see themselves displayed and tend to wave and smile.

I love the way you got great shots of the crowd, the expressions on the children are just priceless. Afterall, they are the ones that help keep us young at heart. Super job
