Welcome to UHH. Very, Very nice photos.
Great night shots DustieLT and welcome aboard the UHH. Looking forward to seeing more of your night time photos.
Thank you all so much for making me feel welcome. I look forward to getting to know you better and share more photos with each other. The shots I have seen so far tell me I have much to learn. I so look forward to learning all I can, though it might take a bit. I was out in the dark on Sunday and my tripod tipped over! I believe my camera is ok, but my most used lens is no good. When the camera fell, the lens took the hit. This popped the lens off the body, which broke off the plastic ring that locks the lens to the body. The glass still looks good, it just won't lock in place. Being a master of justification, I think I may have to buy a new body, just not sure which would be best for my needs, lower noise is very important.
Sorry, I really didn't mean to go on so long.
Thank you again for you support.

Dustie, you dont need to apologize for anything. Oh how i know how you feel about losing your fav lens and possibly the camera also. Been there, done that myself. As for a new camera with lower noise factor, if you can afford the new Nikon D800, that is the one for you. With 32mp there will be very little, if any, noise. And you can blow up a shot say, 10' x 20' and get a perfect picture.

Welcome Dustie, you have some very nice shots. Sorry tonnear about your camera, everything happens for a reason, sometime we just don't understand.
I see you use Nikon , it depends on your budget, I have a D-7000 and its my main stay.. The new D-7100 just got released today.. So look into those. If you can afford the D-800 , it's great also.. We have a lot of Canon folks here and they are great cameras also.. We could start a 20 page discussion over the two, but just take your time, check your budget and I am sure you will choose the one just right for you.. Looking forward to your next post!
Great shots! I too like doing some nighttime photography. The nice thing about living in a rural area (the nearest town is one mile away with 175 people) is that I don't have to worry when I go out at night, even when I go to the nearest "big" town of 13,000. We may not have all the so called great stuff you find in big towns like opera, but neither do we have to lock out houses or cars. But I guess whatever the individual likes. And keep up the good work, I'd like to see more.
Welcome again Dustie!!! Great photos!!!
