I was playing with my dad's D800 and noticed he had his camera set to Auto ISO. Does the D300s body have this capability?

Thanks UH.

Look at ISO sensitivity control info in manual. In mine it is 96 and following pages if this is what you want to do. I have not seen the D800 so I don't know if the feature is different from the options on D300s.

Why do you want your camera to select ISO, instead of you? ISO is a basic setting on which other settings are dependent, such as aperture and/or shutter duration.

Actually, after years and years of being stuck on the same ISO depending on what film you have loaded, some of us still forget that we have the option to change our ISO in te middle of the shoot. We aren't all blessed with traps like steel minds.

I am all for manually changing your ISO, depending on your lighting situation.
I am against allowing your camera to decide ISO for you, in AUTO mode.
