Those are ugly looking candidates for a shoe or rolled up newspaper.

These images are not nearly as clear as the ones above, but, they may suit your taste a bit more Sarge. :)
Re-kills is exactly my thought. If the right foot doesn't get 'em, the left foot will.

You'd need to be quick mate, when it's hot, as it
is down here now, they move like greased lightning.
I got this one on the end of the broom, my plan was to
take it outside, however he run up the broom handle
and my arm in the time it takes to blink. Another brown
trousers moment.

Who gives a square root about biological balance?
Why stop at spiders, insects are arthropods too.
Wipe 'em all out then you can say you've eliminated
a phylum...
Any luck I'm too old to be a victim of the shit storm that is going to destroy humanity. Hopefully imbeciles
like wannabe will be the first to face oblivion.

Those are beautiful photos.
Spiders are good. I am always amazed at how people become wildly upset about seeing them. Probably because they look so different from us.
If I saw a creature more than 1000 times bigger than I, (what we look like to spiders), I would freak.

Mark time MARCH! Until that sucker is pulverized.
The spider shown (smashed) is a Black Widow, if memory serves me. Good one to be dead.

Remarkably Black Widows prevail all over the planet.
We call 'em Red Backs down here. Of course it is well known that a latrodectus bite is dangerous and has in
the past been fatal. When I say "in the past" I mean
before 1956. Despite the fact that the red back spider
is very common here.
The dog however (and I mean family "pet" not wolves dingos etc) are responsible for human fatalities every
single year. So it is more rational to shoot dead every
pit bull terrier you see than squash a spider.
I had a red back in my garage for some time. I noticed
many spider carcasses under her nest. She was predating
on other spiders. If I had of killed her I would have had
many more spiders and other arthropods infesting my
garage.
Fear (not to be mistaken for a phobia) often comes from
a lack of understanding. Of course those most likely
to be unable to understand are the ignorant and dim witted.
Shutter Bugger-
Im all for maintaining balance in ecosystems as that balance benefits mankind (Im selfish that way). I choose to share my personal space with my pet (Toy Poodle) and knowingly accept the risks of that choice. Because of their stealth (size, silence), I prefer that the two species of spider with the worst reputation for harming humans in my area live deep in the forest apart from my home. The same goes for venomous snakes and most very large indiscriminate carnivores. It may be a bit dim-witted of me, but I try to weigh risk vs benefit. Ill risk living with a Poodle, you can keep all the Redbacks you want in your home. Both the planet and I will thank you for your conservation efforts. :)

If you were bit by one when you were twelve and became gravely ill, you would probably not like them so well....just call me arachnophobic (spelling??). But I DID get one HUGE wolf spider (with my zoom for distance) and when I blew it up, saw that the web was COVERED in baby ones! Will see if I can find it and post....
