Can anyone give me pointers on how to set an asking price when selling old photo equipment ? I have a variety of items ranging from old Polaroid Land Cameras to unusual adaptors, filters and unknown items I have never seen before. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Go to ebay and see how they're price, and THEN see what they actually sell for and from that you will see the going selling value... Don't go out and order than new MerBenz, cause they woun't bring that much..

Don is right; market is extremely soft. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313&_nkw=used+photo+equipment&_sacat=0&_from=R40

Good idea... (why didn't I think of that) ... :? Thanks...
I got all this stuff from an old school mate so it's from the 60's or so. I know it won't bring much but maybe someone out there is a collector or something and would be able to use this stuff.

Also when you do go to ebay select sold items. Disregard Buy it now and one bid items as those are not necessarily real. look for sales with multiple bids.

I would also suggest going to www.KEH.com - I have sold them stuff both online at at their shows when they visit the Denver area.

Yes, eBay is the great equalizer. What an item sells for there (not just one which may have been a fluke selling price, but the selling price of more than one, should give you an average selling price for yours) is what the market will bear. eBay really knocked the wind out of the antiques market for sellers but more reasonable prices have replaced absurd ones for buyers.
