To buy or not to'buy the A37?

Hi fellow hogs,

I have decided for a Sony slt as my second body and in another thread asked for help between a37-57-58.

Now I have a chance to buy a brand new a37 for 350 euros with kit lens.
My questione is: is the iq and high iso noise (up to 6400) more or less or the same as a57?
Iq is the same because the sensor is the same I supoose.
Would you suggest this one?
I already own a D700.

Thanks

Personally I would not recommend a Sony at all, when you have a Nikon already

I have nothing against the Sony but why would you want a whole difference system as a back up?

As I already wrote: for me Nikon is not a serious company and will not get a cent from me. The D600 teached me a lot on which company to rely and Nikon is not one'of them.
This is just my personal opinion.

Because in the future I'll change.

But my original questione was another.

I think he means the a700 by Sony. Otherwise I would agree with you 100%.

You need to check out the specs at Sony. Then you need to read a bunch of reviews on each model you are considering. Only then can you make the decision on which camera is right for you and in your budget. All 3 have excellent I.Q.

Hi elandel,
I have no idea how much 350 euros is in USD, but I bought an a37 for $500 with a 18-55 kit lens. I have heard good things about the other kit lens as well. Most reviews I have read (before purchasing) showed very little difference in IQ or noise between the two models. The a57 has better features, but previous posts are right; google the reviews and comparisons and decide from there. My budget was tight and the a57 called to me, but I opted to get the a37 and a 75-300SAM lens at the same time. The a57 cost about $100 more at the time, now they are the same price. I don't regret it, but I still wish my camera had the articulated lcd screen. I didn't think I would need it so often, but with the amount of macro photography I have been doing, it is handy to not put your face on the camera.
