I am upgrading my computer.There are a lot of people on this forum with a lot more knowledge than me.I have a budget of about $1000.00. I am attaching a computer from tigerdirect.What do you think and what would you change.Thank you for your help.The price is $969.00

I am hearing that windows 8 is pretty bad. Windows 7 is stable and Ms will be updating it for several years. Other than that, looks like a very good machine.

Looks good. If your going to do lots of photo post work, I'd rather see 2 or 3 gig of ram on the graphics board.

That'll work well. Windows8 is a bit of a learning curve, but when you get used to it, you'll like it.

Stick to Windows 7 if you can. If you already have Photoshop etc etc upgrades from W7 to W8 is not free & some also have problems running on W8.

I used to be a PC user like a lot of people. Then I switched to Apple on the advise of my brother who uses one every day for his work. There is a small learning curve but once you get there you WILL like it. I know it is a bit more than your budget but I have had no problems with anything. Th OS works great with everything Good Luck..........Tom

If you go for a "gaming" system there will be much more memory on the graphics card which works wonderfully for photo editing. My last machine was a gaming setup and it was Lightening Fast with photoshop and Premier. When that finally died after 5 years, I couldn't afford as nice of a system. (tears) I miss that thing. I tried to salvage the video card but alas, the new motherboard wouldn't take it.

That is a good spec PC. I would be upgrading TO that spec given half a chance! Save your cash for other things,and enjoy it.

I just saw you have 32gig of ram, heck with the video card, you won't need it. :mrgreen:

for about $800.00 you can get a good computer and an external drive.
