I think perhaps MtnMan has been in the mountains way too long and more than likely in a deep cave within the mountain

I just tried to order something from B&H. Their site told me they don't accept online orders till 7PM on Saturday. I understand the reason: they are Jewish and observing their Sabboth. While I agree that in the U.S. they are welcome to do so I am also welcome to not have them impose their religious beliefs on me. So I'll never try to order from them again.

This is just for information. I fully expect everyone in the U.S. to be free to make their own decisions on this type of thing.

I won't have my wife wear a burrkah either.

This is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read. They are not even close to "imposing" their beliefs. If a store is closed on Sunday, are they imposing anything on anyone?

Anyone who has been in the photographic field for more than a few weeks knows the B&H policies. Hardly a big deal.

You have come out of your closet - you are a bigot. I am so disappointed in you.

I think it is smart of him to stay out of this, unless he can offer an apology. There is no defense for his comment. Very few stores are open 24/7, and their reason for closing is irrelevant.

I can't believe what I have just read. In all my life, It has never entered my mind, the religious persuasion of a company or person that I have done business with.

personally, i don't believe that B&H photo has the best deals anymore on cameras or gear, regardless of the god fearing on-line godless hours they rightfully choose to keep.

B&H is merely a good starting point for comparing prices. some of them good, and some not so good. try supporting your local camera business' & economy. the real good deals are there right in your own backyard.

Sikh, and you shall find.

MtnMan's opinion is irrational and anti Semitic but while everyone is heaping praise on B&H has anyone checked out the link provided by GoofieNewfie? It appears they have dirty hands in regards to discrimination and prejudice. They certainly have a problem with women and minorities.

I think you have a pretty messed up attitude. This country was founded on religious freedom, no?
Are they imposing their belief system on you? Where do you get that? That is so selfish and fucked up stupid.
I'm not jewish but I respect that they feel confident in their beliefs that they can actually cease business for a day.
I don't know what redneck cowpatch you come from but here in New York that's pretty acceptable.
If you don't want to do business with them I don't think they're going to miss your few measly dollars.
But maybe you should tell THEM and not bother getting us involved in your bullshit view of the world...

I agree it is a defenseless statement, just curious if he thinks he has a spine. to all else.

Stupid me, I thought they shut down the online ordering due to system maintenance. Now I find out it is for religious reasons. As an Atheist all I can say is good for them. I am thankful that we live in an area of the world where they are free to make that decision.

I actually miss the days when everything closed on Sundays. It was a day when life slowed down and you could actually relax and spend time doing things that were actually important. Seems like, these days, everything is 100mph 100% of the time. Good on B&H and everyone else who sticks to tradition and value whatever those values may be. Just my opinion.

Let's see, you want Jewish businessess to ignor their religious beliefs and be sure women dress only the way you tell them. About the only thing I agree with you on is your nick name.
