Thanks for the info...back in the '60's' I had a Lear 8 track recorder in my car.

WOW!! What did you record while you were driving?
You buy pre-recorded 8-track tapes just like buying CD's today. You also record your own music on those 8-track tapes...were you born yesterday?

I was born recently enough to know the difference between an 8-track recorder and an 8-track player.

In case you didn't catch my drift, I was just adding that Lear also made top of the line under dash players, ya moron!

Thank you Rolf. Not only for posting it but for having enough guts to post it on this forum. It amazes me how some people are so filled with negative thoughts. I would bet most of them never start topics on there own. If you don't like a post just don't comment. While this post was rather long I found it very interesting and read every word. Thanks again for posting.

Hey I do not blame you ONE BIT, I have been to England, not a lot worth listening to on the radio. Not like you folks have any ROCK AND ROLL:)

and now you know the rest of the story! As paul Harvey used to say :!: :!: :!:

Motorola sold off its cell phone business to who I can't remember but still is the number one manufacture for police/fire/ems portable and vehicle radios. As my old sgt used to say to some teen bbragging how on his rice rocket he could not be caught, " You may outrun me, but you can't outrun Motorola!

You didn't say what you can't stand, JR1, Lear jets, or car radios? I don't have a Lear jet. but, man, you should here the sound system in my old Caddy...1,200 watts & 10" subbies. Willie Nelson never sounded better.

Gee, you must have one helluva sound system if it can make Willie Nelson sound good
