On behalf of the Martian, thank you for the compliment.
And thanks for looking, it's much appreciated!

Outstanding detail, beautiful cat portrait.
Thanks very much for your kind comment. Appreciate that!
Very nice soft shot and I mean soft in a good way. The soft lighting makes for a nice effect on this shot and brings out those cute baby blues---keep em coming......

It might be safer just to let it remain a mystery, Randy :-) Beautiful portrait.

Martian has hypnotic blue eyes that follow you wherever you go. But what's going on behind those baby blues?
Is that stare just love?
Is he wondering how the guy behind the camera might taste if properly seasoned?
Or is he commanding you to do his bidding?

I had a calico once that warned you of an attack. Her eyes would turn bright red. Does his?
Eyes turning red is usually from the greatly dilated pupils that cats get during sympathetic hormone release, which allows them to see their victim better, by letting as much light as possible into the eye, and lets the vascular layer of the retina (red) shine back out. Tapetal flashes, the light-reflective layer in animal eyes, can also be red.
Martian's eyes do turn red, yes, but knows better than to attack me. I'm the staff member in charge of opening the cat food cans.
Thanks for looking and the comment!

Thank you for the cat lesson. I thought my cat was really special. Oh well. I can see where he won't attack you, that can opener is a good deterrent.
LOL.
Actually this is the second pic I got of Martian. You posted another one that is just as beautiful.
Great detail, the focus on the eyes was great. Nice pic.
Beautiful! Looks like he's trying to figure out if he really needs you.

I think you're absolutely right, Donna. Some things we just don't need to know. What cats actually think of us, I have no idea. Probably not much, except when necessary to fill the food and water dishes, lol.
Thanks very much for taking a gander and the kind comment. Always much appreciated!

Hope I didn't sound too pedantic there, Jimmy. And your cat IS special--she's yours, and like no other on earth.
And, lol, for all I know, her eyes DO really turn red!

Thank you for the compliment! As I recall, I've posted four or five different shots of Martian in one pose or another. He's often the only one of the group here I can catch, so he gets stuck modeling more than the others.
He's not always happy about it, lol.

Thank you, Cappy. Not as big as the beautiful cat in your avatar, but he thinks he is.
