It is a pity that you have to post without anything useful to say.

To simply make a stupid statement - as you have - without any reference to whom or what you are referring to marks you as a mindless idiot.

He sounds like some Aussies I know.

Well when you think about this, it's always been this way. Kind of a Rich versus Middle Class kind of healthcare system depending on what Health Insurance Plan your company put you in. Example: Maybe your plan isn't accepted by a certain group of doctors or hospital then you would have to go to one that does or "Pay" out of network fees'. Could be the doctor you want to see isn't in the network, then your choice, pay more, or see a different doctor. For as long as I can remember, it's always been this way. Maybe your plan doesn't want to pay or allow a certain test that Your doctor wants to order, then You pay or don't get the test. Don't think that just because your doctor wants to order a test, it's the best thing for you. Our healthcare system has always been a "FEE FOR SERVICE" system. Order more tests, get paid more etc! I could go on but the fact is, times are changing and that my friend is the bottom line.

this is false news about there not being enough doctors, it isnt true- it is just a scare tactic from all of the right wing - we are seeing a lot of Govenors( right wing i might add) changing their minds and realizing that ACA is going to be working out just fine.- me i cant see why any one would not want a good affordable health care system for our country. it is just stupid to be against something that is good for people in this country. it isnt socialism it is decent health care. you have national highway systems. good schools or did and will when we get a congress that has adults in it. we had safe water and safe food but i am not so sure of that now. there is a place for Government.

I would just like to say that I am not going to preach either one way or the other but I will state the facts as I have experienced them in the UK. I worked for 50 years and contributed to the National Insurance scheme all those years as did my wife and my family as well as all the people lucky to be in work. I have been looked after and never had to worry about health care for myself or my family because both I have payed and the population have payed. OK with everything in life nothing is perfect and our system is not perfect but its damn near as close as a realist can expect.
In the old days the rich in this country were the only ones able to expect health care now everyone and I mean everyone can expect and gets health care.
The US is a great country and a rich country it seems to me that you can do better for the poorer people in your great nation just as we can in the UK. No one wants to be ill but as I said before wake up, rich or poor its going to happen to you.

You were in Russia, Rob. Ah, that's where you went this summer to reinforce your commitment to communism. Yes, the Russian politicians despise me. Some even puke at the mention of my name. Are you going to run for the post of Chief Deputy Commissar of NJ? Did the party in Moscow assign that job to you?

You need to get educated. Communism fell in Russia in 1989 and has since been outlawed in that country. We may not like Putin, but Communism is no longer allowed in Russia. If you don't believe me, Google it.

You are correct Bob Smith. These naysayers are a distinct minority. But they are loud and obnoxious. Most Americans support Obama as noted by his reelection.
Income taxes in America are the lowest in almost 50 years and they have been locked in as permanent except for 0.7 percent of the population by Obama in the "fiscal cliff" agreement.
It has been tough to shake the Bush recession. The Republicans want to cut the deficit, but if you cut programs and throw millions out of work, how does that happen ?
If the tea party gets their way and the government tries to balance the budget on the backs of the poor and elderly they will be the first to complain when the results start to hit them.
The Republicans have spent the last four years obstructing the economy and it is working.

Here Bob Smith and KW Conch. Read it and weep. This is what your great president has accomplished. Of course tonight he will show us his greatest skill. Lieing to us all. This is the 2 lead in paragraphs to Bloomberg news this morning: You know Bloomberg as in Michael Bloomberg. Not Fox News:

"President Barack Obama first spoke before a joint session of Congress during the depths of a recession. Four years later, much of the mission he laid out remains unaccomplished.

When Obama delivers his State of the Union address tonight, he'll still be confronting the central challenge of his presidency: The unemployment rate is only a few tenths of a percentage point lower than it was in February 2009, middle- income Americans are earning less, and the economy stalled in the last three months of 2012."

The sad truth is that many jobs are never going to return. It doesn't matter who the president is or will be. Technology, automation, lack of skilled workers and lower costs overseas will prevent the kind of employment that we enjoyed in the past. Gutting budgets and massive program cuts that are wanted by the Republicans will only make things worse.
Can you explain how big spending cuts will create more jobs ?

Well this seems to be your area of expertise according to your sage analysis above. I therefore think it is incumbent upon you to explain how cutting budgets will inhibit job growth.

Are you kidding me ? If you cut program budgets, people get laid off. If you cut revenue sharing with the States, the States have to lay off teachers ,policemen, firemen. How do you create jobs when the money for them has been cut off ?
Now.....as I asked you before, how do cuts create jobs ? How do you cut your way to prosperity ?
If tax cuts created jobs, we would be swimming in them. Bush cut taxes in 2002 and the stock market was flat until 2008 when it crashed and the economy melted down. So much for tax cuts for the. "job creators". Where are they ? Obama extended the tax cuts and the jobs still are slow to return.
Once again...how are budget cuts going to create jobs ?

J_C man, wake up! Every single "job" you mentioned is overhead. Not one can be considered a "job" they produce nothing, they are all consuming overhead functions. If the rest of the people do not have revenue producing jobs and pay taxes on their income there will be nothing available to pay for the "jobs" you mention. You are so stuck in Obamas socialist economy that you actually believe that government creates jobs. Can you eat, wear, drive, amuse yourself, build homes, produce farm machinery, drill for oil, export products etc etc etc , a cop, a fireman, a teacher? No no no. We need them yes, but we must pay for them with tax revenues generated from the productivity of those who do not do those jobs. The government produces nothing but debt. The government has only the money it collects and redistributes (and prints) Government and the functions you mentioned are necessary yes but they are not "jobs" within the meaning we are discussing here.
I know you don't get it so no point in trying to convert your line of thinking. :?

I think that the police , fireman , teachers, and even soldiers and sailors will be surprised to hear that they don't have real jobs. The last time I checked, these people also paid taxes.
I spent four years in the Navy ( not a real job, I guess) and 43 years in the private sector. I even owned a small business for eight years. Never collected welfare or unemployment in my life. Invested my money in the Capitalist system and have done very well. So, I am hardly a wild eyed radical. I do feel that the government spends too much money. I am all for a balanced approach of cutting out tax loopholes and corporate welfare with a cut in government spending. Obama has said that he is willing to do this in a "Grand Bargain", but the obstructionist Republicans will not consider any new revenues. So, the blood will be on the hands of the GOP.

You pervert what I said. I made it clear that they are all necessary. But the "jobs" they hold are all overhead. And Of course these people pay taxes but what they pay only reduces the amount of overhead they generate. How long do you think an entity can survive consuming itself. Private sector jobs not government jobs are the jobs we are referring to when we mention jobs. I too lived my life similar to the one you describe and now live off the fruits of my capitalist investments. Unlike you I do not believe there is an ounce of sincerity in Obama's willingness. I believe he is willing to cut a deal yes, as long as its his deal. Period. Just tonight he offered to deal and laid forth a threat of Executive Action. All in the same sentence. My he is such a nice fellow isn't he? When will the Republicans shed the mantle of obstructionist in your mind? What are they obstructing? Obama's embrace of socialist practices? When will you and yours stop calling them obstructionist? I know ... when they dance with a smile on their faces to Obamas band. Get real. One can not cave in to what they feel is fundamentally wrong. I will agree they could perhaps handle their dissention with a bit more gentlemanly aplomb but how can one do that in the face of either / or threats? O's posture invites combativeness every bit as much as the opposing faction. And since when is his word any good? In his first campaign he promised transparency. The only thing which has become transparent in his 4 1/2 years in office is his duplicity. He goes around with a smile on his face and a dagger in his cummerbund. Transparency. Pffffttt.

2. Thanks to the improper antics of the banks many peoples pensions are worth only a fraction of what they should have been.

3. Morally it is right to support those less well off than yourselves. Judging by the posts in UHH there are a vast number who call themselves Christian - yet appear against helping the poor. I don't think you would find that was Jesus's attitude.

Try reading a post properly before passing comments - I did specify that particular point to ' a vast number who call themselves Christian' - which obviously you do not!!

When Obama delivers his State of the Union address tonight, he'll still be confronting the central challenge of his presidency: The unemployment rate is only a few tenths of a percentage point lower than it was in February 2009, middle- income Americans are earning less, and the economy stalled in the last three months of 2012."

already sinking. What we need to do is do as the
president says, we need to bail out . WE need to bail
out the failling banks, bail out the failling auto industries,
bail out those that can, but doesn't want to work, bail
out other countries and the list goes on and on.
We're like the TITANIC, we're heading for a total disaster
and there's no one at the wheel that gives a, well you
know the rest.
