Durbin: Sequestration Was "Designed As A Budget Threat, Not A Budget Strategy" - Once again Washington plays us for the fools we are!

Again, Washington puts on the Dog and Pony show for the American people but they never have any expectation to be bound by their own legislation. The Sequester was designed to force the compromise that would begin to heal our bleeding fiscal situation, so far Dems have gotten much of what they wanted but they never seriously had any intention of fulfilling their side of the deal, now that the time for Sequestration has arrived, they do not think that anyone really has any expectation of actually making it happen, life without consequences.... God what a country!, and could any life be better than that of a politician, drunk and stupid with power and adoration, never having to be held accountable...

My apologies to Dick Durbin, ..... no...scratch that.
I don't think Durbin would deliberately tell the truth about anything. Probably not even by accident, for that matter. They're creating these "events" so they have more to blame on Republicans, and the R's are just stepping right into it. Like the entire thing is skillfully choreographed with the D's coming out consistently smelling like roses.
Durbin's closing comment about increasing revenues so they can reduce the deficit was just totally over the top. I know he practices that crap in front of a mirror, but, wow, is he GOOD!

You might be on to something there! I've advocated for years that we should never vote for an incumbent. Not sure if we'd get better representation, but they wouldn't be so entrenched.

The trouble with Sequestration is that it hits the south hardest. Now if it was effecting the NE as much as the south or more so the GOP would be pleased.

The trouble with Sequestration is that it should have never been passed, they should have done their jobs in the first place. They then failed in the several months that followed to do anything to avoid the death bill which they passed, now they want to just blow it off and act as if the legislation never was passed.... That is the problem with Sequestration, they think that they are truly above accountability... Screw em.. make them live with it and pay the price at the polls in 2014.

The only reason and I mean the only reason we have these three nightmares (fiscal cliff, sequestration, debt ceiling) is because the Congress believed that they would have a Republican President in office when everything came around. These devices were designed to be excuses to cripple medicare, eliminate social security, increase defense spending and eliminate environmental protection. Giving free reign to war profiteers, energy companies and insurance providers. That was the Republican dream. Now, the Republican Congress is literally mired in their own mess. I say to hell with it all. Let the sequestration begin follow the Republican plan and you won't have to wait too long for the next revolution because once the gun nuts figure out they have been played they'll come a shootin' LOL I will not be reading this thread again so any retorts will be in vain. Ha!
