The question is worded weirdly. If the question was "how many squares are in this design?" The answer would be 40.

"How many can you create?" is a little ambiguous, you're not really creating anything... so the answer could be 0.

On the other hand, several people made facsimiles, so they in fact actually "created squares" ...200 is my answer

I have to agree with part of what you say, most of us should say "0" we did not create them. we just counted them. ;-) Create is what the question really is asking.

I have to revise my answer after looking at your earlier "attachment" post...

your have created 12 diagrams... 11 with 30 squares and 1 with 40 squares... so you hold the current record of square "creation" at 370.

That's an old country expression I got from my wife. See how far you'll get arguing with one. There are some here that will argue whether they are right or wrong just to have something to do. Sorry enough said.

auclair I have heard it as 'Arguing with a stump' but in French "Estinnier avec une souche". It is the same meaning.

Correct That is what was left after they cut the fence post.
You can call me Ray Last name is French Canadian No big C. Grandparents were from Monreal/Quebeck . Can't speak a word of it!
