This is French Bull fighting with the famous Camargue Black Bulls, in the Roman Arena in Arles, France .Unlike Spanish Bull fighting the bulls are not harmed, they have to tag the bulls horns to score points.
Hi Ace, Yes your right it really is spectacular, from the 1 hour build up with all the local costumes and dancing etc. This part of South Central France, The Camargue, is a flat delta between the Rhone & petit Rhone rivers and is famous for its black bulls, white horses and massive flocks of Flamingos, it has a huge Spanish gypsy influence, hence the spanish style dress. Arle is the capital of the region and the Roman theatre is pretty much intact. As for other pictures I will sort out a load and post some more. I will also put some on my website.

One of these days I'd love the Bull to win. sorry, don't mean to be offensive buy I hate bullfighting.
I'm with you on the Bull fighting front, I would not go to a Spanish Bullfight. From what I understand, in the french bullring the bull very often gets the points, and in fact on this day a couple of blokes in white went of with a bit of a limp.
