The Smoky Mountains between Gatlinburg and Cherokee is the most traveled part of the smokies. The views are just breathtaking.

Wow...I can see why they would be traveled heavily. What time of year did you take these fantastic pics? Nice color!

I go in October every year. Some years there are more colors than othere, depending on the amount of rainfall that year.

Wonderful photo's Jean. Fun to see these. My wife won a photo contest of your 2nd picture. It's Carlos Campbell Overlook. There is a wide variety of trees from the peak of Mt. LeConte down into the valley.

I believe those are the "Smokey mountains"! I love the trip from Walhalla to Cherokee.

It is very much photographed. Probably since it is the first one you come to. Congrats to your wife. Maybe she could post it for everyone to see.

If you don't mind...I'll post it here. This is a reduced image. I can't upload large files...my router craps out.
When she took the shot...an opening in the clouds allowed a sliver of sunshine in the valley. Mt. LeConte is still under the overcast. She say's Thanks on the Congrads !!!

Very nice! I really like the contrast in colors in #3 and the last one.
