Hummingbirds and Vulture

The Hummingbird photos are from the feeder in my front yard. The Vulture or Buzzard (not sure which is correct) is from New Hogan Reservoir near Valley Springs in Central California.
300 mm, 1/4000 sec,, f5.6, ISO 1600, flash

how did you get so close to the hummingbirds. I also have a 300mm lens. Couldnt get that close without them taking off.

I have a feeder set up just off the front porch. I guess the birds are just getting used to us being out there. I was probably about six feet from the feeder when I took these. The flash does tend to startle them sometimes.
