Did you click preview? Don't!
Something tells me the blob is dust on the sensor, a common problem.

It's flare from the sun.
Reflections of the sun in the lens.
A lens hood can't fix this if the sun is in the shot.

Here's a "how to" from a pro.
I have not tried this technique but I suspect it works great.

Ron has lots of tips on his blog. I highly recommend...

A prime lens will generally have less flare, when shooting with the sun in the shot. Why? Fewer glass elements.

are you shooting through a window? or do you have a uv or any other kind of filter on your lens?
