Sunday Mother Nature played in the snow and this is what she made! Our back lawn was filled with thousands of these snow rollers. Just about every field and pasture in this part of Vt was filled with these.

Now that is cool! Perhaps it's done by the folks who are layed off from doing the crop circles in summer; winter, they do the snow rollers? Thanks for the chuckle.

Snow rollers are created when you have the perfect combination of sticky snow and gusty winds. I looked out and saw four snow rollers and then a huge gust of wind came, when the white out cleared the back yard was covered with them. They are quite rare, people that have lived here all there lives have only seen them one other time and others have never seen them.

Very unusual. We had them several years ago here in the Hoosier state. Ours were fairly large. My wife went out and stacked them and made snow people.
Was very cold. I posted a photo some time ago of the snowmen.

I've never seen such as thing and we have both snow and wind in SD! But perhaps not the right combinations. Thanks for new information!
