Hi used a Nikon D3200 with a 300mm lens, I edited it in lightroom. I'm getting a telelscope this week :)

what are you getting, is it gonna be compatible with your camera? I've been mulling over this for some time. Not sure where to start etc...

I'm getting a Mead ETX-80. The camera will be able to be mounted to the Telescope with a T-Mount adapter, hope to get some pretty nice shots once I get the hang of it :)

I went out several times to a friends house who has a big telescope nearly 5ft long. .. He is right up there with the equipment.. Both times I was there I was at the wrong time.. The moon is better photographed at 1/2 or 1/4 lit. when its a full moon the suns rays fill in all the craters etc so its hard even with photoshop to bring out a lot of the detail.. however if you do your exposures at 1/2 or 1/4 moon the suns rays are hitting on a slightly diffrent angle and all the surface bits show up clearer. my avitar was taken on one of those nights
(but I added the clown later )
Have fun with it.

Well done.....last night was my first attempt too, tried lots of different settings but finally got it. It's under" I captured the Moon "if you care to look, I was glad to get back into the house, it was freezing.
