Tad, I use a Rebel XT with a 70-300 IS and a T2i Canon with a 17-85 IS. With this system I can switch rapidly and also by leaving the zoom in place it lessens the danger of dirtying the sensor on the Rebel. I love that 17-85!

Wow some really great shots, I can only imagine what it would be like to be there. I keep one XT with the 18-55 on it and the other with the 35-135 (with the 1.6 conversion factor a 55-215mm)which is a 2.8 so a good lower light lens. I carry the 75-300 in the bag but to be honest I also have a 100-300 that I have had over 20 years and have only taken 2 photos with it. Where were you standing when you shot the ice breaker. I understand loving that 17-85 I would think that gets a lot of use

this is from the first of two blizzards in Annapolis Md 2009, that were twodays apart. This first snow was 27+ inches, two days later another storm with 27+ inches of snow. I am so glad I have a Jeep! What fun we had 4 wheeling.

No snow in W-B Tad, northern New York, yes.
