I understand about Santa dust.
Nikon's flashes are all I've ever used in recent years.
I can't afford for them not to work, so for me it's worth it to buy Nikon.

Not an endorsement, but I have read good things about the Yongnuo YN-568EX.

Appears to do just about everything the Nikon flash does for less money. Just remember, you usually get what you pay for.

I have aYongnuo 568EX for my Canon and found it well worth the money, it does the same and more that Speedlite(which I also have.)
Highly recommended.

 I have a THINKLITE SPEEDLITE TT 560 but was told when i went to buy a "trigger'' for my canon 500 d that the trigger wont work with a 3rd party flash and I would need to purchase a Canon one . The Thinklite was approx. £40-50 - the canon £150-£350! you might have the same prob. with your camera

The Yongnuo 662C works well, I have four of them and wouldn't be without them

Agree, I just got a YN465. A whole lotta flash for a little bit 'o money. Surprisingly similar in build and appearance to the camera maker's flashes.

Oh yes I can ! Yonguo YN 465 makes a model for Canon E-TTL cameras. They also have a wireless trigger that works great and is very rugged and super affordable. Both are available from Amazon. I bought both (Nikon I-TTL) and can vouch for 'em.

Hi there to all you and all the best for 2013.
I am currently looking to purchase an off camera flash for my Nikon D7000. I have been looking at the SB700 which looks to be very good but being so close to Christmas I am right out of Santa dust. My question is, is there an off camera flash out there that any one can recommend that is as good as the SB700 but with a slighter lower price tag or should I save up for the SB700. Here are a couple that I have looked at.
1. Polaroid PL144 Power Zoom TTL Flash AF with LCD for Nikon£79 online
2. TR-985 TTL FLASH SPEEDLIGHT NIKON SB-910 SB900 SB800 SB700 SB 900 910 800 700
£90 inc delivery.
My problem is I do not know of anybody using either of these flashes so I do not know if they are any good or not.
Your valued opinions on this matter would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Keith :|
Hi there to all you and all the best for 2013. br ... (show quote)

You've got a fine quality Nikon camera that has awesome potential. I vote for only using the highest power fine quality real Nikon flash meant for it. Save for a while and do it right the first time - you won't be sorry.
