We lost our dear old Dad in August and I am about to buy PSE11. Can anyone give me pointers as to how to enhance this wartime picture of him as I want to make a nice portrait for my mom. Hopefully I've attatched this. Thanks for looking in at this.
Please accept my condolence for your father's passing.
One hint. Regardless of the built in non-destructive editing protections PSE provides, I always make two or three copies of cherished photos before I attempt any changes.
All the best,
Martin

Yea sitting in Shanghai with ps open helps, actually I really like the original so maybe just a contrast adjustment...
I like this one best our of all the examples so far for a portrait. Great job!

Lots of us like working on your dad's picture, eh?
Here is what I did. Enjoy!!
Sorry about your loss.
Yes the examples are already rolling in.
If you're a quick read ... I have always had excellent luck beating the curves on software (I use a lot of it-I score films for a living) by going on Amazon and buying the best reviewed book released on, in your case, PSE11. You can probably go thru it in a weekend tops and you'll be amazed what you'll come out knowing about your new software.
