Describe experience and what you need in what general area. A lot of people have experience, must specify please.

I use PSE 10, and Perfect Photo Suite 7.0. Both do well. Many here also use Adobe Lightroom.

Hi garyrents.
Happy New Year to you from Perth, Scotland and my best wishes for you and your family and, of course, happy editing of this year's photo shoots.
I currently use PSE10 AND Serif PhotoPlus X5 and find that both have their own advantages. I use PSE10 because of it's 'content aware' package which makes unwanted elements in a pic easy to remove. Of course, Serif (like PSE) has a clone tool to do the same but I fine PSE much easier. Serif is an excellent piece of software and I am sure you will soon find your way around the package and enjoy this editing piece.
Cheers and hochaye.

I use Serif X4 quite a bit and (IMHO) is one of the best for the money. They have older versions that are free for download if you would like to try it out. (From Serif website) They also have a very good Pano stitching software that works very well.

Nothing in particular, just thought I wanted a little more than Picasa and never heard of SERF PHOTOPLUS X4.

Thanks so much. I might try an older version first to see what it is all about.

Gary,

I have used Serif for a while and whilst it has a lot of features, find the RAW studio quite limiting. I have used a trial of Lightroom 4 and find that much better in the RAW department. Value for money though it is pretty hard to beat - I think it can be had for £10 now, perhaps the later versions are better. I use Acdsee pro 6 at the moment and find that good.
I would like to try the Serif latest offering, but only wish you could have a free trial first before committing cash.....!
If you download Serif's free version, they usually send you a junk e mail about a week later offering you one the last version at a greatly reduced price. Serif also has lots of 'in built' tutorials which are handy.
In a nutshell - good value for money. If you work a lot in Raw, go for lightroom. Photoshop elements - good at everything. Just my opinion of course.....

Thanks so much. I have not tried raw yet and was thinking about playing around with it I saw it here for about $10 US with a stitching program with it. Maybe some free programs are just as good. I had never heard of Serif before. Again thanks for the imput.

No worries Gary. If you get serious about imaging RAW is the way to go. There is plenty of free stuff out there that is very good, but hey 10 bucks...., I've WASTED A LOT MORE THAN THAT on software that I never use - give it a shot and good luck.....!!

I use Photo impact pro 13 for most of my photo enhancings. I use it mostly because of the ease of use for objects layering, etc. I shot a wedding reception for a friend and used their cutouts as objects and put them into backgounds in wedding settings. She loved them a lot.
