I've not noticed a significant difference in feel moving between my DSLRs & mirrorless systems. A far more distinct difference was apparent going from my film SLR to a DSLR.
I will be shooting more film this year (& developing it myself) but that's more to do with making use of the larger sensor sizes available - 4x5 doesn't have the same feel as a 'miniature' SLR (an early nickname term for todays 'full format')

100 years from now - a father and son muse over some old photo equipment at an estate sale.
son - "Hey Dad why is this D850 so loud?"
dad - "Back in those days cameras had flopping mirrors so you can see what the lens sees."
son - "Wow, so mad crazy!"
dad - "So quaint."
son - "Ooooh, Dad I want it."
dad - "No son. At 5000 Elons, it's way overpriced!"
Still using a d 300 and 7100 , no intention to change .At 77 , they will outlive me .Also a pentax i sd 6mp . love that ccd sensor .
My last card was under $25, and 7000 shots.plus reusable. Film 36 exposures plus developing about same price

Selling some DSLR gear. Took my D500 in hand and snapped a few pics. Great feeling and sound. That mirror moving up and down brings back fond memories.
Anyone else?
Having been mirrorless since 2008 (with Panasonic M4/3) I guess I am qualified to think that you must be a toy boy as much as a photographer. I shoot for the pics rather than the "Clunk, Click every trip"

True, but that does not obviate the enjoyment of classic equipment, e.g., cars or other objects that offer a manual experience.
Have a D850 and Z7ii and a few lenses for both (with the FtZ). I enjoy using both and that’s the whole point - enjoyment.

Yes, full frame @10 FPS sounds like a machine gun ! Still using the 1D mark IV

Same here. I enjoy that sound and feeling from every one of my DSLRs.

A manual gear change provides a choice, which a "clunk click" camera doesn't - except to kick it into touch!

No memory for me! I still have and use the SLR I had since the early 80's.
Similar here. I still have, but not used, my original SLR purchased in 1970.

Hmm, every once in a while I get a mini heart tug remembering how pleased I was with myself holding and shooting with my 5d mk iv, then I look thru the R5 EVF, hit the BBF, and the little focus box finds the critters eye, and memory quickly fades.

I still have and use my D500 even though I have and use a Z9!
I love the feel and balance of my DLSR but it is archived to my display shelf
