Eric a.k.a. ebrunner posted a beautiful flower pic yesterday https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-805823-1.html and that inspired me to take some pics of my girlfriend's Freesia flowers. Thank you Eric.

Mine is not BW but I think that is ok for this shot. I submit the attached for your consideration.

The color contrasts are spectacular, and the pov for a single stem bursting with blooms is high-impact for me.

Thank you Linda! For looking and for the comments. FYI this image was taken with my OM-1 and 12-100mm F4 lens, filtered window light camera R and a 3' reflector camera L, I used a dark color tablecloth for a background.

I totally agree with all that has been said so far. The choice of color for the background to contrast with the bright red flowers is perfect in my estimation. You also filled the frame without crowding the edges. That helps with visual impact. I was wondering how it would look if you cropped so that the stem entered the composition directly at the corner. Then, when I looked at the photo again, I realized that crop would put the flowers right smack in the middle and I think the way you did it with the flowers slightly off set is more impactful. Great job.
