Nikon firmware update

If your Z9 has firmware 3.1 and now it's 5.0 can you load 5.0 and skip 4.0 or do you need to download each update one at a time.

Install version 5 and don't worry about V4...V5 will cover all changes made in V4.

The most current Nikon firmware updates contain all the previous firmware updates. You could go directly from 1.0 to 5.0.

Any new Nikon firmware automatically updates all previous ones if they are not already on your camera.

I agree and I know a lot of members come here for information but in a discussion with someone about something they said, "just go straight to the source". That way you get an accurate and up to date answer.

Indeed. I may be wrong, but think of the Z9 firmware as an OS. Each firmware is independent and a complete set of instructions. All previous instructions are not saved.
