I reread the OP's original post and I didn't interpret it in the same way you did. I looked at his post as a general inquiry rather than a bitch session. Clearly, you saw it differently than me.

Here is the thing, his post was unnecessary. The only person that can help him is B&H. All he had to do was call there customer service number and they would have helped him straighten it out. Either he made an error or B&H did. Either way B&H and the OP could have handled this issue without the OP coming here and stating an issue with B&H. There is really NO need for the OP's post, none at all. A simple phone call would have fixed the issue.
Did the OP mention that he called them? NO
Did the OP even try to resolve the issue with B&H before coming here? NO
If his intention was a general inquiry, why did he not make that inquiry to B&H instead of us. WE cannot help him with his inquiry, only B&H can help him with his inquiry.
It is a waste of everyone's time to try to help him when the only way to get this resolved is to call B&H.

Have you seen some of these threads lately?

There is no free lunch, B&H taking on all the sales tax for PAYBOO sales has to come from somewhere.
So they picked a bank that charges the maximum legal interest rate and get a cut from the bank to py the tax, which has to be paid at the time of sale.
You need to read the terms & conditions before you agree. Waiting until AFTER it is done, benefits no one except the bank.
If the interest rate number reported above is accurate, You agreed to pay over $1800 bucks a year on a $6200 Purchase

First of all I have lost count of how much money I have happily spent at BnH. Every single experience I have had at BnH has been positive. Absolutely no complaints from me what so ever. So what's going on now?

I opened a Payboo account. With this account you can buy what you want, and depending on how much you spend you get so many months of interest free payments.

I bought $6200.00 worth of new gear expecting several months to pay it off so I wouldn't by paying any interest.

I received my first invoice today from Payboo and they charged me $134.00 in interest.

I am not done with BnH by any means. Since i don't have $6,000 sitting around to pay this off tomorow I guess I have no other option except to withdraw money from my pension account to pay off this balance and say good bye to Payboo.

So what's up BnH?

So while I have no experience B&H, we recently remodeled our kitchen and we purchased some premium appliances from Best Buy and were able to get an 18-month, same as cash deal. Now as long as I make a monthly payment larger than the minimum, there will be no interest accrued, as long as the full balance is paid before the end of the 18-month period. Now until then, each month the Best Buy statement shows an interest charge, just that it's not added to your balance and if you do pay-off the full balance within 18 months, it will be cancelled. I suspect that they're required, by law, to show the customer exactly what interest they will be responsible for IF they don't pay the full balance on time. This may be what your B&H statement is showing. Check to see if the interest charge has been added to your balance owed or not. If it has not, then it's just there so that you know what you could be liable for if you don't meet the terms of the agreement.

You are perpetuating the misinformation that B&H is the bank. It's NOT.

Readers here will continue to guess and comment, but the information on the B&H website is extensive and quite clear. See my link and screen prints a couple of entries above. What isn't clear needs to be addressed to the bank.

I've only used PayPal to pay for any B&H purchases. I use the PayPal Credit option which allows me to pay over 6 months. If paid off by then no interest charges.

Same with the payboo card from B&H. I can get 12 months to pay for a $6000.00 purchase with NO interest charges.

Good to know, I haven't bought anything major from them for some time. First time I saw the PayBoo option.

I didn't want another Card since I do have several and one I mostly use (to get the points) for any purchase through PayPal.

No interest but you pay the sales tax.
You can't double dip.

No, you DO NOT pay sales tax. I will give you an example.
The Nikon z9 sells for $5696.90. If you buy it through Payboo the 12 months payments are $475.00 a month for 12 months or $5700.00. the $3.10 extra paid is taken out of the final 12th month payment, so you end up paying exactly $5696.90 for the Z9 over 12 months.
I thought I paid the sales tax too until I bought the z9 with my payboo card. Great value this card.

Consider yourself lucky. The B&H website states that you have two options. You can take the tax or take up to 12 months credit.

I stopped using credit cards except one. I use the Costco Citibank card because I get money back every year from all purchases made. Some purchases through Costco give back 4%. We buy and pay for everything on that card. Entertainment, food, bills. Each year we have been averaging a check back of $1600 which goes towards our summer vacation (cruise this May). Some complain about Citibank... however with the Costco Card it has much value added.

Also, we keep a zero balance on the card. When we buy we go online and immediately pay the balance. No interest accrued. Cash is king when you use the Costco Card.

Something in your post does not ring true.
An example, the Nikon Z9 sells for $5696.95, you can use the payboo card in two ways, you can pay off in a month and save the sales tax, so if you use the payboo card and pay in when you receive your statement, you only pay $5696.95.
If you want the 12 month option by B&H and payboo, you pay $475 a month for 12 months or $5700.00. So, this way you can save on the sales tax and get 12 months interest free.
Way to go B&H.
The OP did not do something correct with his payboo card and now he is blaming B&H for it instead of calling them in person and correcting it he comes here and blames B&H. Very typical of him, he likes to blame others first.
If I made a purchase of $6000.00 I would ALWAYS call B&H and talk to a sales person and make sure they understood I was purchasing the $6000.00 purchase with the payboo 12 month no interest option.
That way I would assure myself that I was getting what I wanted.
Yes Mr. OP, it is that simple, you messed up somewhere, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00 and DO NOT BLAME B&H.

That does not sound like dragging BnH through the mud to me. I viewed Jim’s post as just asking “what is up” because he didn’t understand what happened. He thought perhaps someone here could explain it and he wouldn’t have to call them. Indeed that is what happened.

So I’m wondering why all the emotion directed at Jim?
