I don't have any art training, so I just go with what I enjoy - and hope a few others like it too

Two pieces of advice I've managed to retain over the years:

1. Make sure it goes far enough that it doesn't look like a "mistake."

2. Have reasons for your final look. This can be tough - at least for me
